Opportunities for interested applicants include: the chance to hear from and network with firm representatives at university society events and university law fairs; and spring and summer vacation schemes that are open to students and graduates and have apparently previously included visits to the firm’s Paris office.
Training contract
Mayer Brown offers a four-seat training contract, with each seat lasting six months (trainees must sit in at least one transactional team and one contentious team during this time). As part of the firm’s highly-rated training programme, trainees share an office with a partner or senior associate who will be responsible for supervising and practice-specific training. Additional learning occurs through a variety of legal training sessions and workshops, which cover both seat-specific knowledge and trainees’ broader awareness of business and legal issues.

- Afghan Pro Bono Initiative: Mayer Brown provides support to the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative, a project which is spearheaded by Refugee Legal Support and Safe Passage International to provide Afghan refugees with legal representation. - KIND UK: Mayer Brown lawyers work on cases of undocumented children and young people via KIND’s hub at the Central England Law Centre.
Diversity and inclusion

- Fusion Network: In the UK, a group of lawyers and business services staff set up the Fusion Network, which focuses on racial and social justice, social mobility and social outreach.
- Women’s Leadership Committee: This committee oversees the various women’s initiatives at the firm and works in conjunction with the firm’s global Management Committee. It is comprised of women partners from the firm’s various offices and identifies opportunities and methods to support female lawyers.
