Online assessment

• This included a situational strengths element to start with, where we were given a scenario and 5 options below to drag and drop in order of preference (most likely to do – least likely to do).
• There was also a section where you had to drag a slider in response to how you would react in given situations. 
• Finally, there was a numerical reasoning part which encompassed a variety of problems which you had to solve of varying difficulty.

Where did the video interview take place?             

Online, via Willo

What did the video interview involve?       

I was required to answer four questions, which were all pre-recorded video interview questions. I was given 1 minute 30 seconds to prepare each, and 2 minutes to record each of my responses. I could re-record answers twice if needed. I was asked:

• What excites you about joining EDF’s Legal Graduate Scheme?
• What is your approach to handling competing deadlines, and how do you stay organised?
• What are your greatest strengths and how do they apply to this role at EDF?
• Describe a time when you faced a major setback. How did you respond?

What was the outcome?                                                   

I received an email two weeks later to inform me that I had been unsuccessful.  

Do you have any specific advice on how to prepare? 

Ensure you have a broad range of experiences to draw from so you can demonstrate a well-rounded skill set. Make sure you are knowledgeable on EDF and the work it carries out, as well as why that appeals to you. Focus on strengths and why they apply to the role.
