RMP Enterprise Brand Ambassador for Deloitte
As a Brand Ambassador for Deloitte, I am responsible for promoting the firm’s career opportunities to university students and enhancing Deloitte’s presence on campus. My role involves crafting strategic marketing posts on LinkedIn and WhatsApp, driving student engagement, and increasing awareness of the firm’s values and programmes. By connecting students with Deloitte, I help them understand the transition from university to professional practice, highlighting Deloitte’s commitment to innovation and inclusivity. This experience has also strengthened my commercial awareness and communication skills through active involvement in campus events and collaboration with Deloitte’s recruitment team.
Brand Ambassador for Commercial Law Academy
As a Brand Ambassador for the Commercial Law Academy, I am responsible for promoting the academy’s educational resources to aspiring legal professionals. My role involves creating strategic marketing posts across social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, enhancing the academy’s visibility and engagement. My outreach efforts have helped bridge the gap between students and the legal profession, reflecting my commitment to inclusivity and mentorship. Operations Manager, Nightclub
Initially hired for desk sales, I was entrusted to take on the role of Operations Manager during my colleague’s absence, managing the strategic planning and execution of nightclub operations. My responsibilities include staff management, inventory control, and event coordination, where I utilise strong leadership and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate a diverse team. I have adapted to unexpected challenges, such as staff shortages, by cross-training team members, ensuring business objectives were consistently met, and customer experiences were enhanced.
This role has taught me to perform under pressure and respond to the needs of different audiences, skills that translate directly to understanding and supporting clients. Managing operational logistics and front-facing duties have sharpened my multitasking and time management abilities.
Barclays Legal Experience Week
Following a selective application process, I participated in the Barclays Legal Experience Week, gaining practical exposure to key areas of law such as corporate, M&A, and competition law. One task involved reviewing and amending Non-Disclosure Agreements, where I developed strong legal analysis and drafting skills. This task sharpened my attention to detail and enhanced my ability to mitigate legal risks.
A key highlight was collaborating with a team of five to pitch to NicheCo, a tech start-up. I applied my commercial awareness by introducing the firm’s global presence, with a focus on our offices in the US (specifically Silicon Valley) and Asia, to demonstrate our capacity to support NicheCo’s international expansion. This tailored approach and strategic positioning were well-received, earning positive feedback from the panel.
Additionally, I participated in a 75-minute Freshfields-led mock mediation, negotiating a complex landlord-tenant dispute. This experience enhanced my negotiation skills, particularly in balancing legal and commercial interests to achieve a resolution that preserved long-term relationships. Over the week, I also engaged in mentoring and networking sessions with Barclays legal professionals, gaining valuable insights into in-house legal functions and the practical application of legal principles in the financial services sector.
This experience refined my public speaking, teamwork, and client communication skills, providing valuable insights into corporate law, and reinforcing my commitment to a legal career.

As a volunteer at NLS Legal, I researched Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP) legislation, focusing on recent legal updates and their implications. My responsibilities included analysing complex legal information and advising clients on how these changes impacted their cases. Of note was my insight day with Kirkland & Ellis. I worked with Kirkland’s debt finance team on a case study of a leveraged finance transaction for a private equity sponsor's acquisition. We were tasked with identifying which banks should be offered roles as mandated lead arrangers, negotiating agreed security principles, and managing a fictional inbox as if it were the day before the deal's closing. I also networked with trainees and graduate recruitment.
The day significantly enhanced my financial analysis skills as I interpreted financial data and learned of the opportunities to pursue when dealing with acquisitions. It also improved my negotiation skills, particularly in understanding key considerations when negotiating terms with lenders. Overall, the experience provided me with valuable legal knowledge associated with debt financing and acquisitions.
Government Legal Department Diversity Scheme
Selected to participate in the Government Legal Diversity Scheme, I engaged in a wide range of workshops and interactive sessions, gaining practical insights into regulatory and commercial law. In Competition and Consumer Law, I explored the regulatory functions and enforcement powers of the CMA, enhancing my understanding of legal compliance and regulatory frameworks. I provided strategic advice on Ofgem’s regulatory functions, analysed compliance issues, and drafted Employment Tribunal claims forms for cases involving unfair dismissal and discrimination.
I also contributed to legislative drafting, proposing amendments to a fictional Junk Food Bill with a focus on legal clarity, and tackled legal challenges in public procurement procedures, developing my document review skills. Sessions on International Tax Law included assessing cross-border tax evasion. This experience significantly enhanced my analytical and problem-solving skills, while reinforcing my ambition to excel in a dynamic, commercial law environment.
Student Leader, Bright Network’s Commercial Law Internship Experience UK
Selected as one of five student leaders for Bright Network’s Commercial Law Virtual Internship, I led workshops for over 2,000 participants, providing guidance and fostering engaging discussions on various aspects of commercial law. I offered advice for applications, assessment centres, and networking strategies, enhancing professional development among my peers. Additionally, I was invited to an exclusive ‘Top 50 members’ networking event with Clyde & Co. This experience demonstrated my leadership and communication skills.
Pinsent Masons First Year Programme
After a selective application process, I secured a place on Pinsent Masons’ first-year programme, working in the corporate and litigation departments. I drafted due diligence reports, edited share purchase agreements, prepared case summaries, and conducted legal research into the remedy of specific performance. Paired with a trainee supervisor, I received feedback that helped enhance my analytical skills, particularly in contract review, ensuring no omissions of key clauses like indemnities that could increase client liability. Observing client interactions deepened my understanding of professional communication and client management. I also attended networking events, where I developed my ability to connect effectively with legal professionals.
This experience provided valuable insight into the daily responsibilities of a trainee solicitor, refined my attention to detail, and reinforced my ambition to pursue a career in commercial law.
Support Through Court
Following a selective application process, I volunteered at Support Through Court, providing emotional and practical assistance to vulnerable clients facing legal challenges. I managed client inquiries both face-to-face and over the phone, signposted clients to appropriate services, and assisted in drafting N1 court forms for cases involving complex family and civil matters. This role required me to maintain composure under pressure, enhancing my ability to communicate effectively with clients.
Balancing my volunteer responsibilities with university studies and part-time work developed my time management and organisational skills. This experience deepened my understanding of client care, refining my ability to provide clear, empathetic guidance, and reinforced my commitment to pursuing a legal career that involves directly supporting clients through challenging situations.
Waitrose
As a Retail Partner at Waitrose, I held significant responsibility in the wine section, where I managed stock and restocked and ensured top-tier customer service. I adapted to misdeliveries and stock shortages by coordinating with suppliers and colleagues to keep the section well-stocked and organised. I consistently provided high-quality customer service, assisting customers with detailed product knowledge.
I also led by example, especially during the summer influx of new starters, offering support and guidance to ensure their successful integration into the team. I handled challenging customers patiently and professionally, addressing their concerns calmly and finding solutions that maintained their satisfaction. Collaborating closely with team members, I helped achieve sales targets by optimising product placement and adjusting stock levels to meet customer demand.
